Strandzha and Sinemorets
Where the forest reaches the sea
For our last first encounter with Bulgaria, we send you south.
Strandja does not have the high peaks of Rila and Pirin.
Its beauty is different.
Dense forests, small villages, quiet roads, rivers and traditions that have been preserved in this remote part of the country.
And behind the last hills is the sea.
What to experience
Visit a traditional Strandja village.
Walk along a nature trail.
Try the local cuisine.
Then continue to Sinemorets.
Veleka
One of the most beautiful views in the area is the mouth of the Veleka River.
From the high shore you can see how the river winds through the greenery, separated from the sea by a narrow sandy strip.
Here the mountain and the Black Sea are no longer two separate destinations.
They are one trip.
