Can I claim compensation for overbooking and missed connections?
The advice is provided by Obeshetenie.BG.
When traveling with several connecting flights, it is important to know that they are considered as one trip only if they are with one common reservation. Low-cost carriers such as Ryanair, Wizz Air, EasyJet, etc. do not issue connecting reservations and each segment is considered a separate trip. In these cases, compensation can only be claimed if a specific flight is canceled or delayed by more than three hours.
With connecting flights in one reservation, even with a delay of less than three hours, it is possible to miss your connection to your final destination. In these cases, the carrier is obliged to reroute you and if you reach your final destination with a delay of more than three hours, you can again claim compensation, the amount of which is determined by the distance between the initial and final destinations.
